Scrapbook kept by Rev. Gaettano Conte regarding his pioneering work with Italian immigrants in Boston's North End from 1893-1903. The volume contains newspaper clippings, annual reports, and other printed material regarding various social services for Italians, specifically the North End Italian Mission, the Association for Protecting Italian Workmen, the Society for the Protection of Italian Immigrants, and the Boston Society for the Protection of Italian Immigrants, of which Conte was superintendent. Also included are materials regarding the social, religious, patriotic, and educational aspects of Boston's Italian immigrants, manuscript notes, photographs, and letters and tributes to Conte upon his return to Italy. Correspondents include (one letter each) Julia W. Howe and Edward E. Hale. In English and Italian.
